Description

Angus Snow and his three brothers standing on the edge of the promenade in 1943. In the background, just visible, can be seen some of the t-section rails that were embedded in the beach to prevent it be used by invading forces. For a time, it was feared that Germany might use Ireland to launch such an offensive on the west coast. Many Welsh beachessuch defences installedin 1941.
