My grandparents were the caretakers for this chapel from the 1930s, I think, until the 1980s. My mother grew up in the caretaker's house attached to the side of the chapel, and as a child I came here nearly every summer holiday, and I would help my grandmother to clean the chapel - polish the brass, mop the floors, dust the long wooden pews. My grandfather played the organ here, and one of my earliest memories is sitting next to him on the organ stool, my feel dangling in mid-air, looking up at the huge array of stops and down at his feet on the pedals. Looking at these pictures I can almost smell the place (a mixture of wood, chrysanthemums and hymn books). I miss it very much.

Thank you for your comment. Very nice to read how these images evoked such happy memories in you. Thank you for sharing with us and if you have any images of your time at the chapel all those years ago we would love to see them as part of People’s Collection Wales.
