Another of the artist's preparatory drawing for his 1987 Cardiff exhibition sets out the preparations for a study that was never completed of one of the Cardiff breweries, rising above an abruptly terminated street of houses. Note the lines controlling perspective and the circles emphasising the circular towers, the lightly-drawn telephone wires and the steam rising from the left tower. A solitary figure provides a sense of scale.
