Drawing by FalconHildred
Parc Glynllifon estate workshops - steam engine and saws, 1995
Glynllifon, a few miles south-west of Caernarfon, was the family seat of the Wynn family, Barons Newborough. The estate workshops date from about 1830 and were laid out according to the best practices of the time. The four corner drawings show the boiler house, the horizontal steam engine, the vertical multi-blade saw that cut whole trees into planks and the slate mill with a table saw. In the centre the artist shows each component in the buildings, drawn transparently so as to show the pipes and drive belts between them.
