Description
Pontypool Town Hall is an impressive building and its opening made headline news - this artists impression appeared in The London Illustrated News and shows the Police Station alongside.
When the building was opened on 1st January 1856, it had 3 openings along the front - 2 of which have since been changed to windows. Apart from this, the building looks very much like it did when it was first built.
