Description

The Market Building opened on 1st December 1894 providing a focal point for the traders and for the people of Pontypool. Whilst mainly used for trading, diring its history it has hosted concerts (with audeinces up to 1500 people), boxing matches, polical speeches (including Winston Churchill in 1907) and even rugby training!!
This picture clearly shows the impressive design of the building.
