Description

Tower Hill, overlooking the former market town of Abergele. The tower is believed to be a 17th century watchtower, to keep an eye on any pirates off the coast. There is also some speculation that it may date as far back as the 5th/6th century to Owain Gwynedd and built as part of his expansion into east Wales. In Welsh, the hill is called Gallt-y-Felin-Wynt, meaning Windmill Hill; However, the watchtower theory seems the most plausible.
