Description

Mam and her baby, carried in the traditional way. This was probably put together c1860, using an older doll for the mother (c1830/40) and a c1860 china head for the little baby. Mam's head is wax-over-composition, and she has a fabric body with kid-leather arms. She is 16" high, including her hat. The black-and-purple costume means that she has a likely origin of Mid-Wales.
