Description
Aerial View of Ynys Gored Goch located in the midst of The Swellies whirpool currents, one of the most dangerous parts of the Menai Straits. The Island is first mentioned in 1590 as being part of the Diocese of Bangor, when it was used as a fish trap or as its enlish name suggests 'Red Weir Island'. The house in now in private ownership and was connected to mains water and electricity in 1997 and is now a holiday home. Image taken 2005/06.
