Description

Another aerial view of the Ynys Lawd (South Stack) lighthouse, but on this shot there is an additional interest for me in the visibe record in the rock of the cliffs and island upon which sit the lighthouse and that is the patterns of folds created when the land was formed millions of years ago. It shows the layers of volcanic deposits and the tectonic pressures that occured with the movements of the Earth's tactonic plates. Photo taken 26 January 2006.
