Description

As part of the Heritage Lottery funding that we received under the heading Barry:A New Community, we agreed to create an exhibition that could help people understand more about the creation of Barry Town. From 77 residents pre-Barry Docks the population grew to 38,000 in less than 20 years. The exhibition is in 5 parts and this is the second and is free for anyone to use who wishes to share and to develop knowledge and understanding of Barry. This mainly consists of an excellent series about the entrepreneurs and families who helped shape the economy and landscape of Barry and was created by Laurie Owen. The story about Billie Baker was created by his granddaughter Sue Bowyer.
