Description
Double Grave in memory of Rees Owen (1845) and Sarah Owen (1847) in area A at St John's church, Ysbyty Cynfyn (A20 a & b). See plan for area A for the grave's location in the graveyard.
Inscription A20a: YMA/ Y gorwedd/ REES OWEN,/ O Estymtuen, yn y/ plwyf hwn, yr hwn/ a fu farw 20fed, o/ Ebrill 1845./ YN 61 OED./ Yma rym ein dau yn gorwedd/ Dan law angau yn yr pridd/ Hyd nes clywom lais yr alwad/ Yn yr adgyfodiad dydd.
Inscription A20b: YMA/ Y gorwedd/ SARAH OWEN,/ Gwraig REES OWEN,/ yr hon a hunodd/ 13eg, o Tachwedd/ 1847,/ YN 70 OED./ Yma rym ein dau yn gorwedd/ Dan law angau yn yr pridd/ Hyd nes clywom lais yr alwad/ Yn yr adgyfodiad dydd.
Double headstone sharing biblical text along the bottom. River pebbles on the grave, possibly a quartz cross there too.
The grave was photographed as part of a Graveyard Survey carried out with the help of volunteers in 2013.
