“What does Rugby mean to me?”
It's the butterflies before the game, the bacon sandwiches in the morning, the team talk with the girls, the training, the losses, and the wins, it's being a team! In my eyes you can be as talented as you like , without hard work and good support you're at a stand still. If you don't have a team to play for what's the point, on that field you give your
absolute all for the players that surround you. Rugby has changed my life, it's opened so many doors for me and completely altered my lifestyle . It teaches you life skills, gives you confidence and a sense of belonging. Nothing compares to that feeling you get coming off the pitch knowing you've gave it your all! Rugby is my life!

I’m dyspraxic so I’m clumsy (amongst other things). Sport at school was only enjoyed by athletic favourites of the Games Master. I simply
endured while looking forward to Michaelmas term when PE was rugby a sport where I was useful and ENCOURAGED to crash into things/people, body shape didn’t matter, and there was no tricky
(foot)ball to trip over!

Ospreys wheelchair rugby team Wheelchair rugby is a fast pace contact sport! Wheelchair rugby has opened up so many opportunities for me like competing at London 2012 Paralympics, meeting
new people and socialising with them, learning new skills and improving my health and fitness. The best thing about wheelchair rugby for me is the contact. The best way I can describe it for you is bumper cars with a ball. When you crash into someone in the game that stop them scoring or knocks them out of bounds its a amazing
feeling get the adrenaline pumping, excitement that you have just stop a goal being scored!

This sport is the most exhilarating, hard hitting, enjoyable full contact sport you can do in a wheelchair Young or Old. From the look of terror on peoples faces when they first see & try the sport to the sheer joy and expectation of the next
time they play it, makes my job as a coach worth while.
