Description

Grave in memory of Margaret Jones in area B at St John's church, Ysbyty Cynfyn (B61). See plan for area B for the grave's location in the graveyard.

Inscription B61: ER COF AM/ MARGARET,/ PRIOD DAVID JONES,/ ERWBARFE,/ BU FARW MAWRTH 31. 1885./ YN 50 ML. OED./ HEFYD ELIZABETH, EU MERCH,/ BU FARW CHWEF. 16. 1878./ YN 5 ML. OED.

Description: Large stone monument with trefoil at the top. The trefoil has a caved flower is each section. Down the sides there are stylised leaves with 3 dots possibly representing berries. There are carved columns down the sides. In the top centre there is a carved lozenge within which there is flower, possibly a Lilly of the valley. There is also highly decorative swirl under Er cof am.

This grave was photographed as part of a Graveyard Survey carried out with the help of volunteers in 2013.
