Description

LLDMG1997.156.378 - The adder is Britain’s only venomous snake and is protected under UK law. Both sexes have a distinctive dark zigzag along their body. Methylated spirits and other preserving fluids are used by museums to prevent specimens such as fish and reptiles decaying. The fluid can react with the specimen and will evaporate over time.
