HEBRON WELSH PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH
REV. MORRIS S. JONES, PASTOR
2818 WILCOX AVE.
CHICAGO

Mrs. J. H. Jones,
Dear Friend—Your invitation received to attend the Home Coming Day for former members and friends of Salem C. M. Church N. Ebensburg. And I am exceedingly sorry for not being able to be present. I can assure you that nothing would please me more than to be of any service to the Old Church where I tried to preach my first sermon after I came out of college, and I can just picture the audience on that memorable Sunday morning in May 08 that tortured themselves to listen so attentively to an apprentice in the Gospel’s Ministry. During the last 13 years I have not met a more appreciative congregation than what assembled in the Dear Old Church of Salem, and am not sure whether I shall do so again. The Church in general has certainly been a nutritious home for many a young minister, and its members an inspiration for the Gospel’s Ministry. I have to admit that I am not well enough posted to know how many of them remains, but the one thing is true that their influence and service shall long abide for good is that community. “The memory of the just is blessed”. May I --- this time extend to you my --- and best wishes for a most happy Reunion. My sincere prayer goes to seek the Divine blessing upon your meeting, and that you shall experience another Pentacost. With best regards to all concerned.

I remain
in the Master’s service
Morris S. Jones
