Description
Images taken at the [May-day] fair at Bala showing a shire horse on display, a funfair and amusement rides, various produce stalls, an onion salesman, an auction, a view of the street from above, a man collecting payment from the stallholders, and children eating candy floss.
Title assigned by cataloguer.
A selection of the images have been published and appeared in Y Cymro, 25 May 1952.
The man selling tools on a stall is Mr Harold Taylor of Tom Taylor and Sons, Wrexham, who ran the business until 1977 when he retired due to ill health. Harold was a town and County Councillor also Alderman of Clwyd County Council. Harold and his wife visited a number of markets and fairs across N Wales.
