Florence Elizabeth Jones kept a diary through the First World War, about the experiences of supporting and standing by her future husband - Harry Myles Riding - who was a WW1 'Conscientious Objector' from the Christchurch area of Newport.Harry was one of over 850 across Wales who refused to fight in the WW1 on grounds of conscience, and was arrested and imprisoned for his beliefs in 1915.Florence's 1915 diary about Harry's arrest and imprisonment is shared with kind permission of her grand-daughter Marie Skinner, of Griffithstown, Torfaen.
