Description
A photograph of Dolymynach Dam in the Claerwen Valley, near Rhayader. Dolymynach Dam was only partially built, the Birmingham Water Corporation planned to return to the project at a later stage and build another two small dams (Ciloerwent and Pantybeddau) further upstream. The world wars shelved the plans and one big dam (Claerwen) was finished in 1952.
Dolymynach Dam photograph belonged to John Richard Parry (1875 - 1945), he worked on their construction.
