Description
Ingredients
half a pound self-raising flour
quarter pound butter
quarter pound lard
five ounces sugar
one egg and a little milk
quarter teaspoonful salt
half a pound cooking apples
Method
Rub the butter and the lard into the flour and add the salt and sugar.
Peel and cut up the apples finely and work into the dry mixture.
Gradually add the beaten egg and milk to make a fairly stiff dough.
Roll out thinly and cut into small squares.
Bake on both sides on a moderately hot bakestone and sprinkle with a little sugar.
