Description
Ingredients
- one pound flour
- half a pound butter
- six ounces brown sugar
- half a pound currants
- half a pound raisins
- a little spice
- three eggs
- half a pint boiling milk
- half a teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda
Method
- Rub the fat into the flour and work in the other dry ingredients.
- Beat the eggs and pour into the dry mixture.
- Gradually add the boiling milk (with the soda dissolved in it) and beat the mixture well.
- Put into a greased cake tin and bake in a hot oven.
