Description

Ingredients



  • one pound flour

  • half a pound butter

  • six ounces brown sugar

  • half a pound currants

  • half a pound raisins

  • a little spice

  • three eggs

  • half a pint boiling milk

  • half a teaspoonful bicarbonate of soda



Method



  • Rub the fat into the flour and work in the other dry ingredients.

  • Beat the eggs and pour into the dry mixture.

  • Gradually add the boiling milk (with the soda dissolved in it) and beat the mixture well.

  • Put into a greased cake tin and bake in a hot oven.
