Description
Ingredients
- two ounces butter
- two ounces sugar
- two ounces currants
- half a pound plain flour
- a pinch of salt
- milk
Method
- Rub the fat into the flour and add the other dry ingredients.
- Mix gradually with a little milk to give a fairly soft consistency.
- Put the mixture into a greased, shallow tin and bake in a moderately hot oven.
- Alternatively, keep the mixture fairly stiff and spread evenly on a moderately hot bakestone.
- Bake on both sides and then split open while warm and spread with butter.
