Description

Ingredients

eight ounces stale bread-crumbs
two ounces shredded suet
three-quarter pound blackberries
three-quarter pound apples, sliced
three ounces sugar
half a pint milk


Method

Soak the bread-crumbs in the milk, add the suet and mix well.
Place a layer of this mixture on the bottom of a well-greased pie dish, and cover with a layer of blackberries and apple.
Continue to fill the dish with alternate layers of bread-crumb mixture and fruit, the final one being a thick layer of the bread-crumb mixture.
Bake in a moderately hot oven for approximately one hour until golden brown.
