Description

1851 Swansea Census: Ebenezer Pearse, a printer A short educational video developed by the National Waterfront Museum, Swansea, to complement their collections and provision for schools. Mr Rosser, an enumerator, introduces some of the people he met whilst completing the 1851 census in Swansea. In this video, we meet Ebenezer Pearse, a printer originally from Bristol. He printed newspapers, pamphlets, posters and books. He also owned a circulating library, ensuring that books were available to people who might not otherwise have been able to afford them.
