Description

The Mansel Cricket Club was formed in 1906 through the combined efforts of the owners Sir Geoffrey and Richard Byass and employees of the Mansel Works. Following the works closure in 1954, it was felt that the best interest of cricket would be served by a reformed town team. In 1962 their captain John Lodwig was appointed to lead the Port Talbot Cricket Club. The Pavilion was demolished and the pitch destroyed in 1990 to make way for the new Neath Port Talbot Hospital.
