Description

This oil painting of Mrs Margaret Brynmor Williams was painted by Mr Mario Eugeno Ferlito and presented to her with his love on the 31st July 1978. Mr Ferlito was a prisoner of war captured in Tunisia and transported to Glasgow by troopship under canvas (a journey of 6 weeks). He was then sent by train to Cardiff and from there to Henllan Railway Station on his way to the prisoner of war camp in Henllan. He spent much of his time at the camp developing and painting the Roman Catholic Church of the Sacred Heart located at the former prisoner of war camp at Henllan. The painting is now in the possession of Mrs Williams's niece, Mrs. Anne Walters.
