Major Walter Hugh Godsal D S O, M.C (1883 – 1918) was the third son of Major Philp Thomas Godsal and Ellen Hennrietta Godsal of Iscoed Park, Whitchurch. He was educated at Eton and Sandhurst before going forward to serve with the Durham Light Infantry, 2nd Battalion.

He continued to serve in the First World War until his death on the 26th of March 1918. He was mentioned for his gallant and distinguished service in the field.
