Description

Trawsallt, Cardiganshire.

Monotype by John Piper, circa 1939.

This monotype print was produced by painting on glass then printing the image onto paper by pressing the two surfaces together. Piper produced a series of monotypes of Llyn Teifi during 1939 when he visited mid-Wales. This particular work resembles an aquatint from the guidebook of 1816, Cambria Depicta: A tour through North Wales
by Edward Pugh.
