Description

Ink, watercolour and chalk on paper, created by John Piper circa 1950.

As in Rocks at Capel Curig these rocks are also situated near the village of Capel Curig. Since they
are not as distinctive as the ‘Ricks and Racks’, it is not possible to locate this particular formation. The whole landscape of Capel Curig is marked by these volcanic tuffs. Both paintings were produced
around 1950.
