Copy of a letter written to Joseph Gibson, Esq, at Dundee by Thomas Benbow Phillips at Rio Grande, dated 2 February, 1874

Thomas Benbow Phillips was forwarding all the Papers and Documents relating to the “Beautiful Star”, as well as a letter he had received from the late master and his reply to that letter. Also enclosed was the first Bill of Exchange in London & Brazilian Bank for the sum of £187-12-0, which was the balance of the proceeds of the sale of the “Beautiful Star”. He also added a Post Script saying that Captain Hill of the schooner “Ariel” was sending his regards.
