Description

This photograph was taken at one of the weekly parties run by the CB radio club at the Merry Miller pub. CB (citizens band) radios were very popular on the estate for a time and groups communicated using their handsets. Everyone had to make up a name to use as their handle. The CB radio club was called the ‘Reservation Breakers Association’ and was started in 1981. Bettws was called the Reservation. They held a disco twice a week, on Monday for over 18s and Wednesday for under 18s. Early 1980s
