As a young boy I would often with friends, walk across the tops of the CofferDam, when the tide was out, there was quite a drop to the mud bellow. We collected soft crab for bait in between the walls .It was considered great fun to run across the top when there was a full tide so that if you fell off, you just dived into the water. The timber I believe was called "Green Hart"as was the timber for the Bridge
