Description

A newspaper clipping from a scrapbook providing details of the Cardiff Naturalists' Society meeting at University College on Newport Road. The meeting included a lecture by Mr F Norton on butterflies and moths in South Wales.

The Cardiff Naturalists' Society was established in 1867 and helps to promote public engagement with the sciences. The group put on public lectures, events, and day trips, usually in order to raise funds. They are known for having helped to raise a significant amount of funding for the building of the Welsh National Museum. The group is still active today and is largely run by volunteer work.
