Description

A green commemorative pin badge for the Charles Street Carnival on 10 July 1982. The theme was 'Wild West' and the design has a six-pointed sheriff's star. In the centre are the words "WILD WEST" and around the edge "Charles Street Carnival July 10".

The Charles Street Carnival was started in June 1977 by Cardiff Community Concern as a community groups' alternative celebration of the Queen's Silver Jubilee. This became an annual event and by the 1990s had become a separate organisation, Charles Street Arts. Cardiff Community Concern was an alternative advice and information hub for young people based in 58 Charles Street in the City Centre, Cardiff.
