Description

A recording of my grandmother, Margaret Culverhouse made around 1980, recalling her childhood and early adulthood. The first part covers memories in the village of Caellwyngrydd/Rachub near Bethesda. Traditions of Halloween & the Mari Llwyd there and also events surrounding the slate strike in the early 20th century. Then memories of meeting David Lloyd George and his family whilst working in Llandrindod Wells & Tenby in the 1920s.
