Description

Humphrey Jones writes to his parents on 21 November 1852 from Chester where he is apprenticed to William Higgins, chemist and druggist. He says that all the shops were closed in Chester on Thursday, as the soldiers went to the Cathedral. He intends to send his parents 'a very nice coloured likeness of the Duke'.
