Description: One man and four women
(1) Man in low-crowned, broad-brimmed hat wearing a tailed coat, neckerchief, breeches, striped stockings, shoes, carrying a basket.
(2) Woman in Welsh hat, goffered cap, short-sleeved bed gown, apron, skirt
(3) Woman in Welsh hat, goffered cap with broad ribbon ties; cloak with the hood over the hat, ?blouse or bedgown, apron, skirt
(4) Woman with felt ‘bowler’ hat on which she has balanced a large metallic container; goffered cap, bedgown with large collar; skirt, carrying a basket of ?eggs.
(5) Woman in felt or straw hat over printed kerchief, long-sleeved striped gown / coat with collar and bunched-up tail; apron, shoes. She is very similar to the figure on the right of the small Newman print: Welsh Costumes No. 11 in which she is shown holding the lead for a pig – the lead is just visible in this print, but she is shown knitting instead.
