Description
This photograph shows Hugh Pugh Jones, on the right, together with a friend, presumably from Trawsfynydd. They both wear the uniforms of the Welsh guards. Based on his service number, this undated photograph must have been taken at some point after August 1916.
Before joining the Welsh Guards, he worked as a farmhand at Pen-y-Bryn, Dyffryn.
This document was brought to the attention of the U-Boat Project 1914-18 by Hugh Pugh Jones's granddaughter, Hilda Harris, Dyffryn Ardudwy, who kindly allowed us to scan it.
