Gwaun-cae-gurwen/Tairgwaith, industrial view from Derwydd Avenue

Contributed by Roy Davies (I think it's a rather splendid record of industrial GCG/Tairgwaith)

The view is from an old tip near Derwydd Avenue looking north east towards Cwmllynfell. To the right, in the foreground is the old Maerdy pit with its water cooling tower to the right.
To the left is the Steer Pit and you can just see the old Maerdy public house between the two pits.
Towards the centre of the picture is the village of Tairgwaith and in the distance is the East Pit with its high tip. Cwmllynfell is in the distance behind this tip.
