John Davies of the Coffee Tavern, Cwmgorse borrowed £250 from his brother William Davies of Glanddu farm, Llangadock

Further background is that John Davies apparently needed the money to pay off Jones & Co, bankers of Llandeilo,in respect of a guarantee he had given for his nephew, Tom Edwards, who later became bankrupt.
The reverse of the note has details of interest and part repayments, finally paid up in 1913.

4.Midwife's Licence 1905.
Issued to Margaret Davies (of Coffee Tavern, Cwmgors)under the provisions of the Midwives Act 1902.
