Description

This fireplace screen hanging is a wine-colored beaded cloth done in petit point, with tassels. It has pictures of lilies in the middle, as well as lilies of the valley. Around the border are oak leaves and acorns. It may have been done in the 1850's. It would have hung on a stand attached to a pole, probably near the fireplace. It hung in my great-great grandparents' living room in Rhyl, Wales (Robert and Jane Hughes)
