Mynydd Isa Field For Youth "MIFFY" opened by Duke Of Westminster

Mynydd Isa, a village located midway between Mold & Buckley in Flintshire has a solid and enduring community heritage. For generations of local kids, "The Bonc" playing field has been synonymous with fun and adventure.
In 2010, as a result of a remarkable community collaboration, styled the MIFFY (Mynydd Isa Field For Youth) project, the location was given a complete update and make-over.
Children and their schools, councillors, local organisations and businesses, all played their part. With more than £150,000 raised locally and a substantial contribution from the Big Lottery Fund, some 389 pupils from nearby Mynydd Isa Junior and Wat’s Dyke Infant schools, helped choose the equipment they wanted to see featured in their new park and play area.
Local businesses and organisations, including North Wales Police, Flintshire Neighbourhood Watch, Argoed High, Mynydd Isa Junior and Wat’s Dyke Infant, Mynydd Isa Youth Club, Castle Cement, Cambrian Healthcare, Mondi Packaging, Clwyd Community Chest, Tesco and Synthite all contributed fiscally or in kind to the project.
Twelve trees, donated by the Grosvenor Garden Centre, Chester were planted to represent the 12 years of pupils attending the three local schools.
The opening ceremony was held on 15 July, 2010. In this clip, His Grace The Duke Of Westminster, acknowledges to the assembled pupils and parents, the hard work and achievement of the venture. He then proceeds with the official tree-planting that declares the project complete and open for play.
