Letter sent from Mary Jones, a native of Llanfihangel-y-Pennant, to her sister from Ballarat, Australia, 25 September 1860.
In this letter, Mary expresses the hope that her sister, Jennet, will come to Australia to join her. She believes that Jennet will find a wealthy husband on the goldfields. Welsh girls, she claims, 'are marrying Irish boys who are worth thousands'.
