Description
The trowel is inscribed as follows:
'This Trowel was used, by the Right Reverend Thomas Burgess. DD. FRS. FAS. PRSL and Lord Bishop of St David's, in laying the first stone of St David's College at Lampeter, 12th August, 1822. Revd Charles Philipps BD. Officiating on the occasion. C.R. Cockerell, Esq. Architect. Mr Daniel Mainwaring, Mason.'
