In this letter, Dorothy Stanley, wife of the Denbigh-born explorer, Sir Henry M. Stanley, describes her search for a stone from Dartmoor which would be suitable as a memorial for her husband who was buried in Pirbright Churchyard. In the event a natural boulder was selected.
