Description

The house, located to provide an impressive view of the Brecon Beacons, was built between 1846 and 1848 for Col. Lloyd Vaughan Watkins. The huge entrance tower on the right reflects the Italian Renaissance style, much in fashion at the time. The glass dome seen in this photograph was demolished in 1899.
