Description

The 'Quaintesques' played at the 'Amphi' for 42 consecutive seasons. The company continued under the management of Mrs. Manders after the death of her husband in 1952.
From 1921 until 1939 the all male tradition was carried on by the Quaintesques, but in 1940 the war caused a break in this tradition and women became members.
The ' Quaints' were as popular with the townspeople as with the visitors and many people booked their seats regularly for every week throughout the season.
