Description

The "Black Boys" are said to be the remains of the breakwater of the port of Colhugh. It is claimed that this port was thriving during the medieval period and may have been destroyed during the Great Flood of 1607. Another interpretation is that they are the remains of fish traps of a design common in the upper reaches of the Bristol Channel.
