Description

The 'Aberystwyth Official Guide and Souvenir' published by Aberystwyth Town Council in 1924 notes the opening of a theological college for the training of Ministers of the Calvinist Methodist Church. Built in 1896 as the Hotel Cambria, the hotel did not prosper and in 1906 was bought by David Davies of Llandinam as a replacement for Trefecca College near Talgarth,Brecknok. It was united with Bala College in 1922, hence its title of the United Theological College. The building is marked on the corner of King Street and Pier Street on the map included in the guide. The building is registered Grade II.
