Description

A newspaper article from the Evening Express, published on 05/03/1909, describing a sighting of a porpoise (from description, based on the size of the individual, we would suggest the cetacean may instead be a dolphin) off Penarth.

The clipping reads as follows: "Mr. Robert Monroe, jun., of Eastbrook House, Dinas Powis, and Mr. Joseph Ernst, 10. Albert-crescent, Penarth, were walking along the cliffs between Lavernock and Penarth this afternoon when they saw in the water about forty yards from the shore, a porpoise, about eight or nine feet long."
